The exciting journey in the F.A Youth Cup continues at Compton Park.

F.A YOUTH CUP-THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND
COGENHOE UNITED U18 v AYLESTONE PARK U18
7-45 PM at Compton Park.

Our exciting Under-18s team finally have a home tie in this season’s competition but spare a thought for our opponents who will be playing their fourth successive away tie.
Aylestone Park play in the Leicestershire & Rutland Midweek Floodlit League-South Division and are currently 100% in that competition with two wins from two games. They, like us, have spent most weeks in cup action and their Vase run has seen them clock up a few miles so far. They started just down the road in Ibstock where they secured a 1-0 win over Hinckley AFC, but then they had to travel to Cleethorpes Town and the long trip home was certainly helped by an impressive 4-1 victory. In the last round they had a shorter trip to Nottingham and were 2-0 winners over West Bridgford so the trip to Cogenhoe certainly won’t faze them. Last week they were in County Cup action and beat Barrow Town 4-0 in a rare home cup tie.
The Cooks of course have also won their three games in this competition, but thankfully we haven’t had to travel too far for our games. It all started with that 9-0 win at Rothwell Corinthians and we followed it up with 4-2 wins at first Corby Town and then Brackley Town. Despite having a long list of unavailable players last Thursday, we travelled to Raunds Town and ran out 7-0 winners in only our second league match of the season. The impressive Jessi Obeng bagged his second successive hat-trick and in doing so took his tally to ten for the season in just five games, seven of them in the F.A Youth Cup.
The winners of this tie will play either Halesowen Town or Grantham Town with the chance of drawing a league club not too many games away.
