Not much action this week as we head into the Christmas period.

Tuesday 7th December 2017

PREMIER DIVISION

Leicester Nirvana had the chance to retake second spot and close the gap on the leaders Newport Pagnell Town with a home game against Daventry Town, but the visitors held firm to secure a point in a goalless draw. The game had little in the way of goalmouth action, although Iustin Gerga did pull off a couple of saves for Daventry.

DIVISION ONE

Another game of few chances at Alfred Street as Irchester United and Potton United drew 0-0. The visitors had the better of the first half but failed to turn their dominance into goals, although The Romans got back into it after the break but neither side could get the vital goal. Not a day for goals in the league this week.

LINCS F.A SENIOR CUP-SEMI FINAL

Division One side Bourne Town took on Holbeach United at Abbey Lawn and the two sides served up an entertaining affair. Holbeach took the lead after 26 minutes when Matt Warfield’s deflected shot beat the home keeper. Lewis Leckie was fouled in the box and brushed himself down to take the penalty himself, sending the keeper the wrong way for his 22nd goal of the season six minutes before the break. Bourne were not beaten yet though and Jack Bottreill pulled one back with a header on 71 minutes, but they couldn’t find an equaliser and The Tigers take their place in the final.
