No fewer than five young Cogenhoe players have been selected to represent their County F.A this weekend.

The Northamptonshire F.A Under 18s representative team play their first friendly of the season this weekend and no fewer that five of the newlook Cogenhoe United Youth squad have been picked to take part. It’s a real honour for these lads so congratulations to Jake Walpole, Tom Iaciofano, Jessi Obeng, Harry Darnell and Ben Foster from The Cooks on being selected and everyone at the club would like to say how proud we are of you.
The County squad travel to Latimer Park to face the Kettering Town U18 team, with Walpole, Obeng, Darnell and Foster all going back to face their former club, with these making up half of the old Poppies crew that moved to Compton Park in the summer along with manager Darren Long.
It looks like we are going to have an exciting team in the Northants Senior Youth League as the new recruits look to restore the tradition of entertaining and successful youth sides over the years at Compton Park. Four of the above players have already played for the Reserves in Pre-season, while Tom Iaciofano has already featured for the first team in the Premier Division, but it has to be said that while these five share the limelight this weekend, we have a great squad together waiting to get the league season underway and we’re sure to see a number of them breaking through into the senior teams as the season progresses.
The game is on Sunday 19th August at 11am at Polwell Lane in Burton Latimer, home of Burton Park Wanderers and their ground-sharers Kettering Town.

Thanks to Darren for supplying me with all the information.
