Cogenhoe United welcomed Wellingborough Whitworths to Compton Park for their highly anticipated clash on Monday night.
Both teams started brightly but it was The Cooks who took the lead, as Lewis Galpin who superbly guided the ball in the net from 25 yards for his second of the campaign.
After the break, United looked the better team and doubled their lead when Kieran Shead bundled home from a corner, and Rhys Taylor made it three with a well worked goal.
The visitors immediately struck back after good play from them saw them exploit a gap in the Cooks' defence.
A sounding win for the hosts who now have maximum points from their opening two fixtures.
