FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION
DESBOROUGH TOWN v COGENHOE UNITED

Waterworks Field
Braybrooke Road,
Desborough,
Northants.

Jake Stone takes his in-form team to Desborough as we look to complete an early season double over our Northamptonshire rivals. We recently bet them 1-0 at Compton Park on a very windy afternoon with Ryan Dove’s stooping far post header clinching the points very late in the game. That was a tightly fought contest in awful conditions for football so hopefully we will see a better spectacle tomorrow, but the same outcome would be perfect for the Cooks.
Last season’s trip to the Waterworks Field (now renamed the R Inn Stadium following a sponsorship deal), saw Cogenhoe take the points with a 2-1 win back in February with Ryan Dove netting a first half double before Jason Turner reduced the arrears with a penalty in stoppage time before the break.
Ar Tarn won 1-0 at O.N Chenecks last week thanks to a 72nd minute Luke Stevens goal and they currently sit two points and one place below us in the table so another close game seems likely tomorrow.

FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION

COGENHOE UNITED Reserves v DESBOROUGH TOWN Reserves
Compton Park.

It’s only November but these two Reserve times will be meeting for the third time already this season with Cogenhoe already having won twice at Braybrooke Road. The first win came in the league on a Friday night with the Cooks scoring five in the first half and eventually running out 6-1. More recently it was a Wednesday night game in the quarter-final of the League Cup and it was a much closer game that Cogenhoe won 3-2 with Jonny Shakespeare netting a late winner for the Cooks. There is no doubt that Desborough will be keen to avenge these defeats as they try to keep on the tail of leaders Rothwell Corinthians, but Cogenhoe will be buzzing after two good wins on the road with a 4-0 win at Potton on Tuesday night coming with half the squad missing.

Both games kick-off at 3pm.
