The last long trip of the season awaits Cogenhoe tomorrow as they head to Lincolnshire.

Cogenhoe make the long trip to Carters Park for the second time this season, the previous one being a waste of a day as Holbeach had neglected to inform us the game had been called off in the morning! That aside, this is a ground that is always difficult to come away from with anything and the fact that they have won all their home games since the turn of the year highlights that fact. I like Carters Park, it’s a very decent place to watch football and they usually have a good fan base to cheer them on. The old imposing wooden stand is much missed by many, but the new modern structure is more than adequate and I would guess, more practical too.
The Tigers are on a rich run of form since their surprise 0-3 reverse at Wellingborough Town and have won their last four games. Last Saturday they had a very impressive 3-0 at Eynesbury Rovers, with Charley Sanders bagging himself a brace. We too are in good form with three wins followed by the 1-1 draw with Desborough last Saturday so confidence will be high in both camps before the game. The game at Compton Park, way back in early August, ended all square at 2-2. Matty Long and Luke Stone were on target for the Cooks, with Jake Clitheroe and Stuart Eason from the spot balancing them out.
Last season’s game at Holbeach saw The Tigers tame the Cooks with a 4-2 win. Cogenhoe came from behind twice thanks to goals from Luke Emery and Taylor Orosz, but two second half penalties secured the points for the home side in a game that also saw Ross Harris sent-off (again).
The Reserves have no game this weekend and aren’t back into action until next Saturday when they entertain the leaders Lutterworth Athletic Reserves, who need just one point from their last four games to claim the title.
Kick-off in Lincolnshire is at 3pm.
