It's the first real trek for the first team tomorrow, while the Reserves are home to PNS.

Holbeach United away is seldom an easy day out for a Northamptonshire club, but at least we don’t have to make the trip on Tuesday night as we did last season. Having said that we tamed the Tigers that night with a superb battling performance and took all three points home with us as Montel Dore’s brilliant 23rd minute goal remained unanswered, despite the dismissal of Liam Tuck five minutes before the half time whistle blew. This was our second trip to Carters Park after our first trip ended early with the Cooks 2-0 up. The unfortunate Dan Dougill was left lying on the pitch waiting for an ambulance to arrive after suffering a broken leg and the referee decided the best thing to do was abandon proceedings with just over an hour played.
Holbeach haven’t really produced the form they need to better last season’s impressive fourth place and so far they have only beaten strugglers Kirby Muxloe (6-0 at Carters Park) and Boston Town (2-0 away) and current form has seen them lose their last two games. The recent defeats were both against clubs expected to be up the top at the end of the season in Rugby Town (2-0 away) and Deeping Rangers (3-2 at home after Holbeach had led 2-0 at the interval). Our form is no better though and we have now gone five games in all competitions and are without a win in our last five outings. Tuesday’s 6-2 defeat at Daventry Town our second hammering in the opening stages of the season which is somewhat concerning.

The high-flying Reserves are at home to Peterborough Northern Star as third host sixth at Compton Park. PNS beat Yaxley 3-1 last weekend, the only team to inflict defeat on us so far this season, so we know what they are capable of and we will need to be on the ball if we are to continue our excellent start to the campaign.

Monday and Tuesday next week sees the club extremely busy on the pitch with the Under 18s travelling to Corby Town in the F.A Youth Cup on Monday and then both First and Reserves playing twenty-four hours later. We travel to Kettering Town in the N.F.A Hillier Senior Cup while the Reserves entertain Raunds Town at the same time in the league.
