For the second successive Saturday, Jake Stone's team head out Peterborough way.

The tricky run of away games continues with a trip to in-form Yaxley and the league’s only 3G pitch to date. The Cuckoos haven’t conceded a goal in their last three games but have netted fourteen, with their last two games producing wins over the top two. Both games at home beating Holbeach United 3-0 in the knockout-cup semi-final and 4-0 over leaders Newport Pagnell Town last Saturday. Goals haven’t been a problem for them this season and they have joint leading scorers in Dan Cotton and Tom Waumsley who have both amassed 27 already this season. Winger Matt Sparrow has 16 and has made a lot more down the right side and is a real dangerman to watch out for, while they have a fourth player in double figures with Phil Stebbing on 12.
Our game at Compton Park ended in a 1-1 draw and it looked like the visitors would take all the points after Liam Hook’s 65th minute strike, but Luis Vieira earned The Cooks a share of the spoils with just three minutes remaining.
Last season’s trip to Leading Drove ended in defeat which was harsh on The Cooks that day. Stebbing grabbed the only goal of the game with just two minutes played and although Cogenhoe had their chances, they just couldn’t find that vital breakthrough. Ashley Clamp was denied a blatant penalty in the second half after being taken out by the keeper, but it was one of those ‘not to be’ days.
Cogenhoe will be hoping to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 4-2 defeat at Eynesbury Rovers, a game in which Ryan Dove kept up his superb form in front of goal with his seventeenth of the season. It’s likely we will have to find the net at least once to get anything from this game seeing as they have only failed to score once at home this season, 0-1 reverse to higher grade Dereham Town in the F.A Cup.
The Reserves have an interesting looking game at home to leaders Newport Pagnell Town. They have already beaten the Swans 4-1 on their own patch, but it’s fair to say our team won’t be as strong as it was that Tuesday night. They picked up a decent point in a 1-1 draw at Raunds Town last weekend with Jonny Shakespeare netting in his third successive game.
Both games kick-off at 3pm.
