Adam Cook has taken on the role of Club Coaching Coordinator

Adam Cook has taken on the role of Club Coaching Coordinator.

Adam has played at Colchester RFC since the age of 10 playing in the centres or back row for the 1st and 2nd XV.

His remit is to be the club’s “champion” of all matters coaching, ensure correct and adequate coaching at all age groups; ensure club coaches are following the RFU and club’s own coaching policies, protocols and standards, and ensure, as best as possible, consistency of coaching delivery throughout Youth & Mini sections.

Award Courses
Adam will be aware of the RFU coaching course provision in Eastern Counties (including Northampton Saints DPP), Suffolk & Essex and assist club coaches (and prospective coaches) with availability and correct protocols of award courses encouraging coaches to attend relevant courses and arrange any necessary additional courses for the club.

CPD
Arrange for the provision of appropriate and attendance of CPD courses for Colchester RFC coaches – either in house, RFU provided, or through Northampton Saints EPDG / DPP.

Coach Support
Support coaching provision throughout Youth & Mini sections, by arranging coach mentoring where required / where necessary, arranging coach cover, where absence requires, and arrange for “guest” coaches (either internal or external) as necessary
(e.g. senior players, senior coaches, external coaches) as a boost to existing provision, as a matter of coach / player development, or for greater interest.
Help to identify gaps in coaching skills, and arrange as best as possible, arrangements to cover gaps.
