Whilst England have been predictably failing at another Cricket World Cup, Coleshill CC’s Junior players have been training hard throughout the winter months to ensure they all prepared for the 2015 season.

The Club, making use of the excellent new local facilities provided at the Coleshill Leisure Centre, have put new and existing junior players through an intensive 11 week coaching programme. The Club coaches, with support from Complete Cricket Coaching, have seen huge improvements from all players involved, which range from ages 5 to 15.

Adam Harrison, Coleshill CC Junior Cricket Manager and Chairman explained, “We had a really successfully season in 2014 and I wanted to build on that as early as possible. We made the decision to move back to Coleshill to train this winter and it’s proved a real masterstroke. We’ve had over 30 juniors turn up every week and they worked so hard with our superb coaches including Martin Clifford, Daniel Bates and Ex-Glamorgan CCC and Warwickshire CCC star Nick James.

“The new Leisure Centre has been a vital resource to us and has enabled our coaches to run group and individual practice sessions, which has benefited all our players. All the players cannot wait for the summer season to start”.

The Club’s winter indoor coaching programme began in January, catering for Hardball and Softball cricket sessions and focus on ages 5 to 14. These session run until Sunday 29th March.

For the warmer days and lighter nights, Coleshill CC’s Outdoor Summer Coaching Programme begins on Friday 10th April 2015 and runs every Friday evening @ Memorial Park 6.00pm - 7.30pm until September 4th 2015. The sessions are open to new and existing juniors from ages 5 - 15. Both hardball and softball training is catered for and the Club’s newly refurbished Memorial Park Centre is open to parents and family.

The Club’s Coaching Programme will cost new and existing juniors £35, which includes all Friday training sessions and games played. Alternatively, for £50 – juniors members can also get a Coleshill CC Surridge playing shirt with the new Club logo and new junior sponsor - MSE Mechanical & Electrical Contractors.

The Club’s junior sides will play competitive matches in the Warwickshire Cricket Board League’s at Under 9s, Under 11s and Under 14s age groups in 2015. The Club are also exploring entering into a softball under 8s league. The Club are also working closely with the Warwickshire Cricket Board to support local schools with the Chance to Shine programme. The Club is keen to support local schools with free cricket coaching sessions in the Summer.

The Club are also looking for keen young female cricketers to take part in its 2015 Junior cricket season. Coleshill CC and Complete Cricket Coaching will be running the first Coleshill CC Girls Summer Coaching Programme. The sessions will be starting on Wednesday May 6th and will run every Wednesday night up to July 15th from 6.00pm - 7.00pm at Memorial Park, Coleshill.

The programme is aimed at Girls aged 6 - 11 and covers softball cricket. The Club and Complete Cricket Coaching will be providing fully ECB and DBS qualified coaches, with all playing equipment supplies.
