History

Colron is a boys and girls football club which caters for a wide range of age groups starting at under 6's and moving all the way through to under 18's. The Club was founded in 1972 by Colin Daniels and Ron Perks who used the first 3 letters of their names to name the club Colron.

Its famous colours of blue and yellow originated from a lack of money to buy alternative kits and the fact that no teams played in these colours. Since then the club has become one of the most successful junior football clubs in the Midlands, winning a host of championships and cups each year.

More importantly for Colron its founding principles of creating teams that play the game in the right way is a philosophy which runs through all age groups. Managers are keen to develop individual talents and this has resulted in many players moving from Colron to professional clubs. However not everyone can be a professional and Colron's main principle has been to develop boys to maximize their potential within an environment which offers the child a happy and long footballing career.

It is not unusual for under 6's to stay with the club all the way to the final year and many of the committee are made up from players who have now taken on duties as managers so they can continue to share the experience of being a member of Colron.

The club is always looking for new talent and if you think your son would like to trial for the club please contact the relevant Colron Manager.

Parents will be delighted to know that fun does not stop on the football pitch and many social occasions are run each year giving both children and parents the chance to get to know their club mates.

The club motto of "Let the Children Play" echoes the philosophy and attitude of the committee, the players and parents alike.
