Colron entertained Lea Hall in what was both clubs last game of the season. Colron won 2-0 earlier in the season in what was a one sided affair, but not today!!!
Lea hall started the brighter and caused Colron all sorts of problems, Jack Allen & Charlie Swann started in defence for the 1st time this season and did a great job. Charlie played ahead of Jack and was the most creative player for Colron in the 1st half linking well with Luke Bishop, Aaron Pritchard, Harry Jennings & Oliver W-Hayes. The scores were level for much of the 1st half and Harry Jennings had the best opportunity of the half but dragged his shot wide of the post. Just before half time Lea Hall scored a fine goal, Jack was left on his heals and the Lea Hall player beat James with a left footed shot that was unstoppable. Harry Cutler came on mid-way through the 1st half for Aaron Pritchard who had played an excellent game on the saturday. James McKay made a good save to keep the score to 1-0.
Lea Hall deserved their first half lead and showed plenty of spirit and determination.
The 2nd half saw a switch of players with Aaron Stead coming on to the left hand side of midfield for Oliver W-Hayes and Zak Stafford dropping into defence for Charlie Swann. Down the slope Colron started to pile on the pressure with some great build up play and a host of corners & half chances.. Eventually the pressure took its toll and a Lea Hall player handled in the penalty area to give away a spot kick. Aaron Stead stepped up to for a 2nd time this weekend to riffle the ball into the top corner 1-1. The momentum was now firmly with Colron as they pressed for a winner, Jack Allen, Aaron Stead, Luke Bishop and Harry Cutler drove the side forward desperate to get the winner and their efforts were rewarded with 3 minutes to go when some good build up play created a shooting opportunity for Harry Cutler who struck a low, hard shot that found the back of the net. Great reward for Harry who was outstanding when he came on and was also rewarded with Man of the Match.
Colron were 2-1 winners on the day but hats off to Lea Hall who deserved to take something from the game. We wish them all the best for next season and hope to play them again soon.
This was our last game of the season and we had only lost 6 league games this season. We lost to Burntwood (1st) Beacon (2nd) Dosthill & Lichfield Round Table. Overall not a bad season and we did get to a final. The squad will be stronger next season with additions of new experienced players and if the boys keep working hard we will do better next season. Well done boys, I am very proud of you all.
Regards Mark

Simons last word!
Well done to all the lads this season in this difficult division where no game is easy and it can be cruel as well as kind. We have had to deal with injuries, players missing and several formations throughout our first competitive season, we have learnt to lose games we should have won and win games in the last minute against the run of play. We have welcomed Aaron Pritchard who has bonded quickly into the side, so much so I have given him the nick name of “Pinball” which has derived from his quick left or right passing and his endless desire to win the ball for his team mates. We will build and equip the squad to cope with the ups and downs of next season and hope to better ourselves in all departments. Colron will ensure the sense of fair play is installed into the team and to put on the Yellow and Blue shirt will give a sense of pride, without losing the hunger to win and to admit defeat when it comes along, hopefully not very often!!!!!
Finally a big shout out for our leader Mark “Mourinho” Bishop who puts in so much time in, on and off the pitch to ensure all the lads are a part of something special for them to remember for the rest of their lives, as well as making the parents and families feel proud of the teams efforts week in and week out.
