On a day made for rugby, the sun shining the ground firm and two teams who also enjoy playing against each other.

The game in itself not spectacular as both sets of forwards cancelling each other out. Combe Down started the better with UFC champion Nathan "Calzagie" Skedgwell going over in the corner and Sam "Carling" Dyte duly converting for the extra 2 points. This in turn gave Avonvale the kick they wanted by scoring a well taken try. The conversion missed so half time saw Avonvale 5 - Combe Down 7.

Combe Down in the 2nd half began to open up by bring the running of Mikey and Josh into the game. With a safe pair of hands in Charlie at full back tries were soon to come. As the game continued Combe Down started to dominate both territory an possesion. This resulted in a thumping run by Charlie "baz" Harrison crashing over the line after taking out 3 or 4 of the Vale boys. Mikey after a number of runs finally carved his way through the Vale defence to make the game safe.Chester "Carter" Ellis able to take the extra 2 points with a fine converstion. Any win is a good win escpecally away from home.

A few names need to be mentioned Charlie "baz" Harrison putting in a man of the match performance, Charlie "Sheridan" Knight and Fraser "Leonard" Mckenzie stepping up to the front row for their first games as props, well done you two. And also a well done to Jamie "Chilcot" Osbourne for lasting 60min before being replaced!!!
