With players not showing on the day, Comets 2 took to the court with only 6 players against a Prolek side above them in the League table.
With only one recognised shooter, Charlie, in the team a volunteer was needed to step up to the line. Good old Maggie accepted the bib with good grace and the intention of feeding Charlie all the time. This she accomplished with some amazingly accurate balls but there were times when she was forced to shoot. Using a style not seen on the courts of higher level netball for some time, Maggie proved scarily accurate and must have had a 90% score rate. Charlie created great space and soon found her 'eye' to be accurate as well.
At the other end of the court CJ and Hannah worked well together and picked off lots of balls aimed at the Prolek shooters as well as collecting many rebounds.
Jenny and Louise worked tirelessly in centre court to make up for the missing player.
Overall this was an excellent win for the 2s - now known as the Magnificent 6 rather than the Dream Team!
It was hard to choose a Girl of the Game after all the players had put in so much effort but in the end 2 were nominated - Hannah and Maggie.
