Comets v Telstars
A disappointing start to the season for the prem squad
The first match of the England Netball Premier league started on Sunday with Comets only having to travel to Dartford for an away match against newly promoted Telstars.
Comets knew this was going to be a hotly contested game as the two Kent based teams have come across each other on numerous occasions.
Both teams stared off well in a competitive and hard fought manner each holding their own, with the first quarter ending 14 – 11 in Telstars favour. However, Comets could not maintain their momentum and had a disastrous second quarter, Comets found it difficult to bring the ball through the court into their attacking third, only scoring 3 goals, which was not good enough for a premier league side against a tough team like Telstars.
Changes were made for the second half but the lead Telstars had built was too much for Comets. There were some good passages of play Comets never gave up and fought till the end.
A mixed start for the beginning on the season, a good learning curve and lots of hard work ahead for the Premier Squad.
