Code of Conduct
CODE OF CONDUCT – SPECTATORS/PARENTS

1) Remember that members play organised sports for their own enjoyment; they are not there to entertain you.

2) Be on your best behaviour. Do not use profane language or harass physically or verbally abuse players, Manager, coaches. Referees or linesman.

3) Applaud all good play by your own team and the other team.

4) Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no game.

5) Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake during the game.

6) Condemn the use of violence and verbal abuse.

7) Respect the referee and linesman’s decisions. Remember he is only human with the same feelings as you and like you sometimes makes an honest error.

8) Encourage players always to play according to the Laws of the Game.

9) Read the Laws of the Game to gain a better understanding what you are looking at and commenting on.

10) You should always encourage players and never coach them as that is the Manager’s role. This will cause confusion/conflict between managers/players/parents.

11) Remember any actions or comments you make can be heard or seen by children, and you will be held responsible for them. This could include re-imbursement to the club for any fines or costs associated to your actions and comments.

12) The club withholds the right to suspend or ban any parent/spectator from the club for some/all games, that has not behaved in a responsible manner at any home and/or away game.

PLAYERS CODE

1) Play for the ‘fun of it’ not just to please your parents or coach

2) Play by the Laws of the Game

3) Never argue with Respect the Referee or Linesman’s decisions at all times

4) Control your temper and use your energies for playing better football

5) Play well for yourself and your team, your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.

6) Be a good sport. Recognise all good play, whether by your team or by your opponent’s team.

7) Treat all players as you yourself would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of any player.

8) Remember that the aims of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good. Do not show off.

9) Co-operate with your coach/manager, team mates and opponents, for without them you will not have a game.

10) Learn the Laws of the Game and you will be a much better football player.

11) Ensure you have the right apparel, remember shin guards are compulsory in all games.

12) When playing only take notice of your manager and not parents or spectators, as you will be playing to a game plan that others are not privy to.

13) Players are expected to attend training sessions at times detailed by your manager; failure to do so could result in you not being able to play.

14) If for any reason you cannot attend a training session or a planned match it is up to you to inform your manager at the earliest opportunity ASAP.

TEAM MANAGERS CODE

1) Ensure either you or your representative attends monthly managers meetings or meetings called for special purposes

2) As the team Manager you, by your actions and conduct, set the example for your players, parents and spectators. Set a good example at all times

3) Read the players, spectators and parent’s codes and understand what is being asked of all participants of your sport. Actively promote the codes.

4) You are responsible for the players health, welfare and safety particularly the very young players, during the period they are under your control from the arrival of the first child, to the (usually late) collection of the last.

5) Ensure that each player is correctly dressed with the necessary safety equipment, shin pads etc. before being allowed to play (Referees can send off the player off the field until correctly dressed)

6) Get treatment for an injured child (player) immediately. There are no exceptions.

7) Never, either physically or mentally, push children beyond their abilities. The game is of minor consideration when compared to the child’s future health and well being.

8) Never condone unacceptable behaviour by doing nothing. To do so can be seen as encouragement to the guilty and leaves it for the next Manager to rectify.

9) Always be prompt, courteous and correct when dealing with the League officials, opposition Managers, Referees and Linesman. Confirm venues, times and dates etc. as early as possible and at reasonable times during the day.

10) Read understand and be aware of your responsibilities as laid down in your League handbook. Remember, and remind all concerned that bad behaviour is punishable by the League, which can lead to heavy fines and/or suspension of the Club.

11) Check that you have the necessary equipment, documentation, and first aid box before you leave for the match, or training

CLUBHOUSE

ALL players, managers, members, parents and visitors are reminded that the clubhouse is open for the use of everyone throughout training and match days and times when the club is open. Everyone shall take responsibility for ensuring dirty and muddy clothing/boots shall not be worn within the clubhouse at any time.

The club has supplied pigeon holes at the front entrance for boots and any muddy kits must be removed or covered with a clean tracksuit. Signs requesting NO BOOTS IN THE CLUB are posted within the clubhouse.

Until the club and committee receive full co-operation from everyone, improvements will be limited as the committee will not commit to club money being used for fresh decoration or new furniture, which could be ruined from muddy clothing/boots.

To conclude, MANAGERS and PARENTS must identify there players/sons/daughters with muddy clothing/boots and take action to enable compliance to this rule. Please remember this is your club and the committee want to make it comfortable and inviting for everyone. This ruling will be monitored and persistent offenders will be identified and could be subject to restricted access to the clubhouse.
