Past Players - Past Players 1
Nickname – Paul, Pizza Man and Donatello
Approx years and dates involved with the club – 1991 through to 1995 plus the odd game or two after 1995 when the club had injury problems
Career at CHFC (Player/Coach/Manager/Other) – Player, 1st Team Captain and Philishave salesman
Playing Position – Centre Back
Other clubs – Crystal Palace, Sutton United and Tyrrell Rangers
Goals scored for Career – Can’t really give a total for Career. I would normally score 5 to 8 goals a season. My first season at Coney was very poor only 1 goal and that was a penalty
Best goal scored in a Coney shirt – A 25 yard Screamer against Greenside. If they’d had 4 keepers in goal they still would not have stopped it
Years involved at Junior Level – Zero, but I do remember playing against Coney Hall in my younger days
Years involved at Senior Level – 4 years (Retired at 27)
Honours – Numerous Junior League and Cup wins. Various League winners, Cup Winners and R/up at senior level. Member of the Treble Winning side in the 1st Billy Lennox era
Oldest Memory at the club – Playing my first 2 games for Gary (Gerd) Butlers reserve side in 1991. Despite losing those 2 games to Battersea then Beaufoy, having the 2 worst games of my life and getting the call to play in the 1st Team in their next game. And as they say the rest is history
Most Memorable Coney Hall Game – 8-0 win against Bushymead. Everything just clicked for us on the day. A great display of how the beautiful game should be played
Most Memorable Coney Hall Moment – Lifting the Ace Awards Senior Cup with Peter Blake to complete the Treble and put the icing on a superb season
Best Player played against – Matthew Le Tissier gave me the run a round for 90 minutes on more than one occasion. I would say Luca Belenchia of Reigate Town; he was a thorn in my side during our Cup semi final and final appearances in the 91/92 Season for Coney Hall
Best player played with – Ian Wright, John Salako and Richard Shaw all 3 quality where it counted. During my Coney days it would be Blakey, Stoney, Alex Moore, Butts, Princey, Daley and Flapper Harwood to name a few
Lasting memory of CHFC – Billy Lennox’s famous saying “Mines a Becks” and Ralgex/Deep Heat in my underpants every week “Great Balls of Fire” cheers Reggie
Could I just say it’s always nice to see that some of the old faces are still around the club as well as the new ones. People will come and people will go but the Coney Hall spirit always remains strong. Good Luck to all concerned in keeping the Club moving forward.
