Leisure Centre redevelopment

Following recent discussions with Cheshire East Council, we’re pleased to confirm that the impact of the Leisure Centre redevelopment is not going to be as intrusive to Hankinsons Field than originally envisaged.

The footprint of the new Leisure Centre will not affect the senior pitch. There may be a short term impact, due to the need to erect a temporary fence to segregate the building works. The worst case scenario is that we may need to narrow the pitch by c1m for a short period of time.

The long term impact is that we will lose the current training area / M&J pitches at the back of the Leisure Centre, as this is where the new swimming pool will be situated. We’re going to have to utilise space on the Park and Back Lane instead.

The containers will be relocated to the far end of the car park by the bowling green. The Leisure Centre car park will be rearranged with additional spaces created where the current swimming pool is.

All this is still subject to final planning permission, exact dates are still to be confirmed. We’ll provide further updates as they are available.

We continue to progress options on a more long term solution to the clubs location, and in the interim will continue to invest in our current facilities as evidenced by the recent installation of the decking in the yard.
