Bears brought in Peters at left back and Foster up front for the Cheshire derby, looking to build on the Burscough game.

Winsford were first on the attack with Steele shooting over. in the opening minutes. Foster was first to show for the Bears, with a shot put out for a corner. Heaton also had a chance but his header went just over the bar. Former Bears Callum Gardner was looking dangerous for the visitors and he came close with a shot over the top. Jones was called into action to deny the visitors when he made two excellent saves in quick succession.

The Bears went in front on 14 minutes. Jonah O'Reilly picked the ball up on the edge of the box and curled a classic into the top corner for his first goal for the club. Five minutes later Steve Foster doubled the lead, turning well in the box and hitting the ball into the left hand corner of the net. 2-0.

Winsford then put the Bears under pressure with a number of chances but the defence was holding firm. At the other end, Matthew Farnworth almost made it three but his effort was cleared off the line, then Emini Adegbenro with a strong run down the right, crossed forDeclan Fletcher but the keeper got there first. Andrew Jones then made a smart save as Sherwood closed in on goal, but he was out quickly and cleared well.

Winsford pulled a goal back on 42 minutes. Gardner with a strong run and low cross finding the unmarked Middleton who had an easy tap-in.

Winsford were first on the attack in the second half, buoyed by their late first half goal and Kerr had a chance but shot well over then bar.

It was 3-1 on 51 minutes, Adegbenro with a great run down the right wing, beat the keeper and shot from a really tight angle, finding the back of the net.

Winsford continued to push and Martin Hill had to be alert to head away a dangerous cross. Then a Hill cross gave Thomas Morris a chance but his header was saved at close range . Chances were being create at both ends with Neil Chappell, Joshua Heaton and Steve Foster all going close. Former Bears Brandon Moores had a great chance but his shot skimmed across the front of goal and out.

The game was finally made safe when, who else, Fletcher ran at goal, Langley came out but failed to get anything on the ball and Fletcher went round him and walked the ball into the empty net. 4-1

Another good team performance and the side is starting to gel together. Next up is the huge FA Vase game v 1874 Northwich, who gained a home point tonight with a Scott McGowan 90th minute penalty aganist City of Liverpool FC.
