A fantastic weekend for the academy saw 10 wins from 10 games with progression in Welsh Youth Cup and Academy Cup.

A great weekend of football for the academy kicked off Saturday morning with mini games vs Flint Town United at The Quay 3G which hosted all ten academy games over the two days.

Four very good performances from our mini sides saw a 7-2 win for our U8s, 4-1 win U9s, 3-2 win U10s and 10-2 win U11s. Highlights of the U8s fixture including a hat trick from Jayden Smith can be seen on the following link:

The good form continued to the first team on Saturday who defeated Newtown away by one goal to nil to move the side into second just one point behind league leaders TNS.

Sunday was the final academy cup preliminary games for our under 12, 14 and 16 teams at home to Colwyn Bay. All three sides knew that wins would guarantee them places in the Super Six.

The U12s continued their 100% record for the season winning by ten goals to nil, followed by a seventeen to two win for U14s and a resounding seven nil win for the U16s. The three wins confirmed all of our three sides will play the remaining fixtures of the season in the Super Six. a huge well done to all coaches and players on a great achievement.

Our under 19s were next to play on The Quay 3G in the Welsh Youth Cup against Rhydymwyn. A very poor first half showing by Nomads still saw the side winning by two goals to nil but a very under par showing against a resilient and hard working Rhydymwyn side. The second period was a much better performance which saw the game end eight nil to The Nomads who are through to the next round of the competition.

The U13s and U15s completed the weekends fixtures with 6-2 and 4-1 wins against fellow Flintshire sides Flint Town United. Two very good results and performances for Danny Mapp-Jones and Anthony Weavers sides on the over the afternoon and evening.

A huge well done to all sides on a fantastic weekend for all teams, staff and supporters.
