2 Wins and 1 defeat for Academy Cup sides

3 months ago By Jay Catton

Our U12, U14 and U16 sides played their first Super Six Academy Cup games of 2018 with games vs Bangor City and Bala Town.

The weeks action kicked off last Wednesday with a top of the table clash for Nomads Academy Coleg Cambria scholars who faced Salford College away. The side recorded a hard fought two one win to keep them top of the category 2 North West college league.

Saturday morning our U8s were in friendly action vs Ashville U9s who stepped in with Bangor unavailable to play the arranged U8 and U9 fixtures. We apologise to the U9s as we were unable to re arrange a fixture for them over the weekend.

Our U10 and U11 teams completed the gap Futsal program with two enjoyable festivals at Deeside Leisure Centre. With a number of good performances through out.

Our U18s completed a very impressive three nil win over Rhosllanerchrugog Saturday afternoon with the win moving the side to top of the league in the Clwyd East men’s league.

Our U13s and U15s enjoyed friendlies with Bangor City Sunday at The Quay 3G.Our U13s were cruelly beaten by two goals to one with Bangor scoring a last minute winner, a realy good quality game with a very good performance from our U13s side.

The under 15s followed with a three one victory in a very good showing by Anthony Weaver and Mick Nicksons side against last years National Cup Winners.

The main academy action this weekend came from our Academy Cup squads, who returned to Super Six action. Our U12s fell to a two one defeat to Bangor City with our u16s recording an impressive one nil away win, made even more impressive with the side down to ten men for a large period of the second half.

Our U14s were away to Bala Town and maintained their 100% start to the Super Six with a three two win away to the Lakesiders.

The U19s completed the league action with a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Airbus in the Welsh Premier Development League.
