A very competitive weekend which saw positive results in the Academy Cup and our U19s progressing in the Welsh Youth Cup.

In a weekend which was planned to be off for our sides due to half term turned out to be a very eventful and jam packed weekend of top quality fixtures.

Friday evening our U13s hosted touring side Berkhamsted College and performed well for stand in coach Iain bennett recording a strong two nil victory.

Our U8s were next in action with a narrow defeat to Bury FC completed by the under 12s going down two nil to Bury also in a very end to end and exciting game for all in attendance.

Saturday morning saw further top class pro club fixtures for our sides which kicked off with our U8s travelling away to Crewe Alex. The side enjoyed their second football league opposition in two days in another great experience for our young team.

Our under 9s travelled into face Liverpool Academy in 5v5 fixtures. Some tremendous individual performances which was very pleasing for coaches Craig Griffiths and Anthony Gomes.

Our U10s were invited to a fantastic tournament which included Fleetwood, Preston North End, Derby County and hosts Wigan Athletic.

the eight team tournament saw our Nomads side finish fifth recording 1 win, 3 draws and just 2 defeats. A huge well done to all the boys who participated in a great event and a huge thanks again to Wigan Athletic for the invite.

Nomads fixtures concluded on Saturday when our young under 18s fell to a two one defeat in the Premier Cup against Rhosllanchrugog. The side had found themselves trailing one nil before Max Moore pulled one back but the home side scored the winner in extra time to send the young Nomads side out.

Sunday saw the start of FAW Academy Cup Super Six league program which our U12s, U14s and U16s all qualified for and kicked off the latter stages of the competition with home games vs The New Saints.

Our under 12s kicked off the morning recording a four one victory in a below par performance from Leighton Sumner and Jordan Mapp-Jones' side.

The U16s followed in a top quality competitive fixture playing out a two all draw with Eliot Evans penalty and Taewoo Kim scoring the equaliser in the second half.

The U14s completed the hat trick of fixtures following on from the under 12s recording a four one victory also to kick start their Super Six campaign.

A good day in competitive action for Nomads was completed on Sunday with a one nil away win for our first team vs Barry Town moving them up to second in the league and three points from top.

The under 19s also put in great result away to Newtown AFC in the Welsh Youth cup recording a twelve nil victory and progressing to the last sixteen of the competition. An even more impressive result for the fact a total of seven sixteen year old first years were involved in the match for Daniel Reece's side.

Well done to all teams and we hope everyone enjoys their week off this week from training over half term.
