3 academy cup wins for our sides along with Welsh Youth Cup win and victory over Preston North End marked a great day for the academy.

Another jam packed week of academy football kicked off last Wednesday with two emphatic wins for our Nomads Academy Coleg Cambria sides.

Our A side travelled away to Accrington and Rossendale winning 11-1 with our B side at home to Coleg Menai winning 10-0. Both sides remain top of their respected college leagues with both sides on 100% starts to the season in league action.

Friday evening we hosted Shrewsbury Town in friendly fixtures at The Quay 3G with our under 9, 10, 11 and 13 sides enjoying some fantastic games. Another great batch of experiences for our players.

Matt Sampson and Kevin Manley's under 18s were in league action away to Airbus UK Broughton in the Clwyd East Mens league Friday evening and recorded a 1-0 win thanks to a Dominic McHugh goal which moved the side to joint top of the league.

Our mini U8-U11 sides were then back in action Saturday morning with an away trip to Llandudno Town, which were as always very competitive games for minis age groups against strong Dudno sides.

Dale Johnson and Matt Griffiths U14s enjoyed great day away to Sheffield United in two 9v9 friendly fixtures in another great experience for our teams.

The big action of the week came on Sunday with three academy cup games and our under 19s in Welsh Youth Cup last sixteen action.

Our under 15s were the first in action though as they travelled away to Preston North End in a fantastic game, which saw Anthony Weavers side win by three goals to two in a very good performance from the side.

Our under 12, 14 and 16 teams travelled away to Llandudno Town in academy cup games and returned with a hat trick of wins. Our U12s played out a 1-0 win, U14s were very strong in their 6-0 victory as were our under 16s who posted a 3-1 victory. A great batch of results for our teams.

The great academy cup results were followed up by our under 19s who progressed to the Quarter Finals of the FAW Welsh Youth Cup with an emphatic 11-1 home victory over Caernarfon Town. Highlights of all yesterdays goals and action can be seen on the following link:
