Rhys moved to Cardiff back in January 2013 from the Nomads after progressing from the academy U12-U16 phase into the youth team and then into the first team.

Since his move he has scored 18 goals in 22 for the under 21 side which ended in a substitute appearance against Chelsea in the Premier League for the first team.

Since then he has enjoyed loan spells at Colchester and is currently on loan at Dundee United in the Scotish Premier League.

Rhys is a model example for all at the academy as a player who was never at a professional club as a younger player but through our academy he progressed into the youth team and first team then got a senior professional move and is now reaping the rewards.

His new contract sees him commit to the club until 2018.
