Academy Players of the Month December 2016 and January 2017 Announced

Players of the month for the last two months have been announced and will be awarded at the first teams next home game.

All players will receive their trophies and be presented at half time of the next first team home game against Carmarthen Town on Saturday 4th February 14:30 kick off.

All players are to arrive as always in full Nomads Academy tracksuit and polo tops and will have professional photos taken by our Head of Media Nik Mesney.

Under 8s - December 2016 - Taylor Williams

Taylor Williams : Taylor has been superb in training and took what he's learnt into games and earning himself a trial with Manchester city. (Craig Griffiths U8 Coach)

Under 8s - January 2017 Lennon Young

Lennon has been in fantastic form through January with some fantastic goals and appearances.(Craig Griffiths U8 Coach)

Under 9s - December 2016 -Charlie Jones

Charlie picked up a number of man of the matches during December, Charlie had been trying to work on his 1v1 defending and in December he showed how far he had come, proving an absolute nightmare for attackers. (Ben Nash U9 Coach)

U9s - January 2017 - Luka Salvatore

Luka has been brilliant for the last 2/3 months both in training and games, however this month he's gone up a level, playing in a new role upfront, scoring 7/8 goals in only a couple of games, a brilliant half volley against Crewe and 2 headed goals against Elite Academy the stand outs. U10s - December 2016 - Jamie Davies

Jamie Davies continues to be our most consistent performer,competitive in defence and creative in midfield, he sets an example to others both in games and training and his qualities have shone through in the difficult games we have played recently. (Gavin Bennett U10 Coach)

U10s - January 2017 - Charlie Storey

In futsal Charlie Storey has performed really well,displaying good technique,enthusiasm and creativity from his position on the left,I hope this gives Charlie a lot of confidence to take forward. (Gavin Bennett U10 Coach)

U11 - December 2016 - Noah Sumner

Noah has had an excellent month, looking busy up front and running the channels tirelessly and we he gets a chance he puts it away expertly! Keep it up Noah! (Chris Brooks U11 Coach)

U11s - January 2017 - Charlie Price

Since Christmas Charlie has forced his way into my best team with consistently proving to us what a great player he is! Strong on and off the ball and not giving strikers any room to breath! Also on the ball he's shown his quality and that wand of a left foot is dangerous in open play and from set pieces! (Chris Brooks U11 Coach)

U12 - December 2016 - Cameron Ellis

Worked very hard at all extra Thursday sessions during November/December and his sharpness in front of goal seen big improvement, he also got Player of the Day during one of Academy Futsal events during the month playing in a number of positions.(Danny Mapp Jones U12 Coach)

U12 - January 2017 - Charlie Davies

Excellent month for Charlie which has seen him pick up 2 Man of the Matches and handful of goals in larger format games. Pulling strings in midfield and discovering how to use his strength & body to win battles in middle of the pitch. (Danny Mapp Jones U12 Coach)

U13 - December 2016 - Elis Newby

Elis newby has become an important player in the 13s , shown some big improvements in his game quality on the ball frequently starting attacks from the back along with some excellent defending and timing of challenges. (Dale Johnson U13 Coach)

U13 - January 2017 - Reagan Jones

U13 Reagan jones showing great Attitude in both training and games, works tirelessly in central midfield , showing a wide range of technique on and off the ball. (Dale Johnson U13 Coach)

U14 - December 2016 - Adam Gunnery

Adam always gives 110% every game and plays an important role in the team with his defensive discipline. Adding more to his game now and developing very well. (Anthony Weaver U14 Coach)

U14 - January 2017 - Ben Thompson

Ben is a very important player for the team and the improvement Ben has shown this season is a credit to his determined attitude and willingness to learn. Ben is currently training at Manchester City this is great reward for his performances this season.(Anthony Weaver U14 Coach)

U15 - December 2016 - Marcus Conor Astreos

Marcus Conor Astreos, performing really well in futsal and coming off the bench in 11aside games to have great effect! (Leighton Sumner U15 Coach)

U15 - January 2017 - Jacob Moffatt

Jacob has had a great month unusually playing as a full back both sides and also in a CB role. (Leighton Sumner U15 Coach)

U16 - December 2016 - Charlie Roberts

Charlie played well in our games against touring Australian teams and was an important player in our futsal games. (Mark Rowlands U16 Coach)

U16 - January 2017 - Jack Swinnerton

Jack has trained superbly and scored many of our goals in our futsal games which helped us to finish 5th overall. His hold up play has improved massively which brings others into play. (Mark Rowlands U16 Coach)

Academy Scholars B - December 2016 - Jack Foster

Academy Scholars B - January 2017 - Liam Bruford

Excellent work rate and energy out wide and been proving a real threat to the opposition. (Iain Bennett Scholars B Coach)

Academy Scholars A - December 2016 - Jake Jones

Power and pace through direct play, adding goals and assists. (Sean Regan Academy Scholars Coach)

Academy Scholars A - January 2017 - George Coulthon

Under 18s - December 2016 - Andrew Ely

Ely was instrumental in midfield and put in 2 fantastic performances in December. He probably won the ball more times for the U18s than any other player during December and was a constant thorn in the oppositions' side. On the ball he kept the ball recycled effectively and this played a big part in the victory against a very good Sychdyn side. (Lee Woodward U18 Coach)

Under 18s - January 2017 - Dominic Elsey-McHugh

Dom has been outstanding in January, before his recent injury he was responsible for 7 goals in January with a Man of The Match performance against title favourites Cefn Mawr Rangers. What's stood Dom out the most is his attitude in the games, very creative in possession but still very industrious out of possession.(Lee Woodward U18 Coach)

Under 19s - Sam Roberts - December 2016

Showing good quality with the ball whilst also bringing leadership at the back.(Sean Regan U19 Coach)

Under 19s - Iwan Rogers - January 2017
