Following on from former academy and first team player Ben Nash's involvement in Europe last season, being in the squads vs Stabaek (Norway) and Vojvodina (Serbia) the academy is delighted to see Connor Harwood also being included this season in both home and away legs to HJK Helsinki (Finland).
For the second season running the club had made Europa League after their second placed finish in the Welsh Premier League for the 2017/18 campaign.
The Coleg Cambria scholar Connor Harwood alongside fellow current and former scholars Luke Blizzard, Jordan Manley and Joe Sullivan were all involved in pre Europa league campaign and were involved in games away to Ballymena (Ireland) and St Johnston (Scotland).
A fantastic achievement by Connor in a great month of experiences for him going to Ireland, Scotland, Finland and being on the bench for the home leg 1-0 victory which will go down in history as one of the best ever results by a Welsh team in Europe.
The first team unfortunately crashed out of the competition 3-1 on aggregate after losing 3-0 away last week to the top of the table Finish side who have made Europe for the last 25 years on the bounce! A strong crowd of 6000 was another great experience for the player.
A great experience for all at the football club and a huge well done again to Connor on being in the two eighteen man squads for the European games.
A great example again to young Nomads Academy players, on the opportunities available at Connah’s Quay Nomads Football Club and what all players should be constantly striving towards.
