6 months ago By Jay Catton

Following weekend of Academy and Welsh Youth Cup and games against pro clubs this weeks team of the week has been announced.

As always a huge thank you to U9 coach Craig Griffiths for compiling together each week.

Well done to all selected winners.

[b]Under 8 – Jacob Hughes

Really solid performance at CM. Not only cored the opener in the win at Crewe but also worked tirelessly throughout the match. Showed as much willingness to defend (2 goal line clearances) as he did joining the attack. (James Duff U8 Coach)

Under 9 – Alfie Griffiths

Alfie this week has shown us some fantastic goals in training and matches. His composure infront of goal is superb, His awareness around him also gets him space and creates numerous opportunities for his teams.(Anthony Gomez U9 Coach)

Under 10 – Ben Williams

Ben played with composure right across the midfield, scored an excellent goal and was at the heart of all of Nomads good work. (Ben Nash U10 Coach)

Under 11 – No Game

Under 12 – Jack Lever

Superb midfield display particularly in the 2nd half, drove the team forward with some brilliant positive play and scored a super goal too! (Leighton Sumner U12 Coach)

Under 13 – Leon Bennett

Outstanding at the back, very composed m am all round very lively performance from the U13s, lead by example with a captains performance. (Iain Bennett Head of Youth Phase U13-U16)

Under 14 – Callum Tipper

Yet again another strong performance from centre half , didn’t put a foot wrong all game both defensively solid and cool and calm in possession , carrying on his fine form so far this season. (Dale Johnson U14 Coach)

Under 15– No Game

Under 16 - Lewis Yeates

Drove the team forward in a Very energetic display, a number of stand out performers on the day but Lewis energy was exactly what was needed in a very intense opening super 6 game. (Iain Bennett U16 Coach)

Academy Scholars B – No Game

[b]Academy Scholars A– No Game

[b]Under 18 – Junior Scott

Created the goal and was consistently a threat on the wings. Tormented defence creating chances and delivering good balls into the correct areas on several occasions. Stuck to his defensive duties with physicality and tracking back for the whole game. (Matt Sampson U18 Coach)

[b]Under 19 –Dominic McHugh

A great performance from Dom after not being in the squad of late. Bounced back superbly with a number of assists which were the result of a very driven performance. Well done Dom (Daniel Reece U19 Coach)
