Mini Phase - Head of Mini Phase - Leighton Sumner

U8’s

A great reaction this weekend across the board from all players, much improved from last week. Every player shown great desire across all 3 games this weekend from Futsal, NW Elite to early morning away to Bangor, Lucas Harrison dominating Friday nights game stood out for me the most, A faultless & Unselfishness performance gained him this weeks POW, Overall a great weekend for the 8’s

U9s

had a Slow start which can be excused with the journey up to Bangor, which saw us fall behind 2 goals behind, boys began to move the ball around well and were creating plenty of chances testing their keeper who pulled off some top saves. 2 goals from Olly Blythin drew us level before debutant Josh Banks slotted well to lead 3-2. Bangor equalised late on when MOM Taidhg popped up with a last minute winner great match all round

U10s

Were not quite at their best on Saturday vs Bangor, looked tired from the night before, some poor decision making led to us not creating as many opportunities as normal, however we scored 2 really well taken headed goals and Jake Barlow pulled of a worldie save. Not the best performance but we showed great character and got the result in the end.

U11s

Really good weekend for the U11’s, first they gave a great account of themselves against a top U12 team in Ewloe on Friday night, playing some very good football and their off the ball shape was fantastic, leading until the last 15 when they ran out of steam. Saturday playing 9v9 on 1 third at Bangor was very tough, but the lads did what they could and tried to make the pitch big in possession, deservedly winning the game in the end by 2 goals to 1.

Thanks to Bangor for having us, look forward to seeing you back at the Quay 3G.

Youth Phase - Head of Youth Phase - Iain Bennett

U13s

13’s won 6-0 away at Bangor. 13’s dominated throughout scoring some well worked team goals There were also a couple of fine individual goals. They have been playing some excellent football reacently, hopefully this will continue. Well done.

U14s

Very encouraging display away at Cefn Druids drawing 1-1, we had many clear cut chances during the game in a much improved performance another day we could have scored many more, well to the lads and a great reaction from a couple of tough results recently.

U15s

Won 9-1 away at Bangor , a real slow start conceding early on to go 1-0 down , after 15 mins the lads got it together and started moving the ball better through the lines in difficult conditions , scoring 5 goals in 20 mins to lead 5-1 at half time , second half they kept possession really well plenty of patience and scoring a further four goals without reply, a good performance

16s

Lost 2-1 away at Wrexham in a great game and deserved more from the game, lads are playing well at the minute and hopefully keep this going moving into super 6 next week. Special mention to the Under 15s who continue to play up and perform on a consistent basis.

Senior phase - Head of Phase - Iain Bennett

On Wednesday our U18s/Scholars B, played a British cup round 1 fixture against Abbey Hey from Rochdale, after a strong start the lads found them selves 3-1 up only to allow our visitors back into the game at 3-3, scoring again to make it 4-3 Abbey Hey grabbed a late equaliser to send the game into penalties. Scholars eventually winning 5-4 after 18 penalties. Callum Manley saving 3 in the shootout. Into the next round.

On Sunday our 19s/Scholars A travelled to play Bala Town away, Bala had a game plan for the first minute and it worked as they dominated the 1st half and played counter attacking football, our boys struggled to move the ball quick enough and the chances we did create the home keeper made some good saves. Into the second half and after a brief chat regarding improvements the lads started much better with a well worked goal by Max Moore, the game was such as a second goal for the kadsbwas always going to be needed, after some close calls it didn’t arrive and Bala grabbed an equaliser deservedly so. Into the final 5 minutes and hitting the post and creating openings the game began to get stretched, Bala centre forward finding himself in the 18 yard box to finish past keeper Harry Wilkes to win the game 2-1, overall a disappointing result with a much better 2nd half performance we will look to go again and build for our youth cup tie.
