Former Nomads player Rhys Healey scored his first ever football league goal for Colchester on the weekend in a three nil win over Crewe Alex.

The former Nomads academy player has began a three month loan with the League One club.

Healey is currently in his first year of a new three year contract with Championship club Cardiff City who have loaned him to the League One Club.

Following making his premier league debut with an appearance against Chelsea last season, Rhys was a second half substitute for Colchester on Saturday and with his first two touches scored the sides second goal in a three nil win and had a part to play in the sides third goal also.

A fantastic start for the former Nomads and we wish Rhys all the best during his time at the League One club and hope to see him scoring plenty more goals over the season.
