Another great week of fixtures for our sides with games against Sheffield United, TNS, Shrewsbury and Wrexham AFC.

Another jam packed week of football for the academy kicked off last Wednesday when our Nomads Academy Coleg Cambria Scholars A team defeated Mooreland Schools at The Quay 3G comfortably to continue their 100% start to the season.

Both ours and Coleg Cambria Scholars A and B sides have won all of their league fixtures to date and started the season in great form.

Friday evening our under 12s travelled away to Shrewsbury Town for a very competitive fixture which the side narrow lost away to the League One academy side. A marked improved performance from the previous weeks defeat to Flint Town United.

Our under 16s hosted local side Blacon in a friendly on Friday at The Quay 3G, having a weekend off from Academy cup. Another solid performance and result for our ever improving U16s team.

Saturday morning we hosted The New Saints at U8-U11 mini games which saw two wins, one defeat and a draw for the Nomads sides in what are always, some of the most competitive games of the season.

Before these mini games and all academy games last weekend, the games kicked off with a minutes silence for remembrance weekend along with remembering the late Carl Sargeant of Connah's Quay who sadly passed away last week.

All at Connah's Quay Nomads send their condolences to all of his family and friends during what is a very difficult time.

Our under 18s completed Saturdays action with a comfortable win over Bellevue FC which takes them up to fourth in the league just three points off Halkyn United first team.

A great fixture Saturday saw our under 13s travel away to Championship academy Sheffield United, for 2 9v9 fixtures which saw all 18 players playing through out. A huge thanks to a number of under 12s who helped out also and put in some great performances.

Sunday was the return of TNS in a triple header for U13s, U15s and U19s sides. Our U13s and U15s were narrowly beaten with the result of the weekend recorded by our U19s who defeated current top of the table TNS.

A very high standard fixture with great quality on show from both, saw Nomads score a late winning penalty from Sam Haley to secure a three two victory.

The weekend was complete with a very competitive U14s game which ended in a draw against Wrexham AFC at The Quay 3G.

Another great week of tests and experiences for all of our sides.
