Fri 17 Feb 17:15 - Friendly Walkover winner: Future Elevens PSA Under u9/10s

Tough game for the u8's against a strong future elevens psa

Superb passing display from the u8s

This evening we entertained a mixed team of u9/10s future elevens PSA side from the north west.
We kicked off and from the start our boys looked sharp and had a few early shots at goal but came to nothing. 1st period was pretty even considering the age and strength of the other side . We had plenty of possession and was happy with our boys in there formation and discipline . The boys really moved the ball well and was really good to watch. Leighton mills had a clear chance to score but put the ball wide from 12 yards out, lennon young had a few chances which there goalkeeper saved well. Some silly mistakes and some good play from the opposition found themselves 3-1 up at half time. Our goal coming from Gethin Roberts who broke down the right and his cross shot which somehow found the ball inside the net.
2nd period we played some real good football and had chance after chance but it wasn't our night infront of goal. Lennon young, Taylor williams and Leighton mills did get on the score sheet in this half but they could have had a few more in my opinion but they kept on going to create more chances for the team. We gave possesion away in silly situations and future punished us in scoring a few more as the half went on. Just before half time jayden hughes broke down the right hand side and whipped a fantastic ball to the back post but young just couldn't get there and another chance went begging.
3rd period we again started off well and had some real good opportunities infront of goal but again came to nothing and even were punished again from the north west side. Lennon young scored 2 solo goals and alfie Griffiths scored from a cute angle to cut the deficit. But the game ended 7-10 to future elevens.
Overall i thought the boys played superb. Yes we did make silly mistakes but the boys will learn from mistakes that were made. We missed a whole lot of chances and the score could and most should of been alot closer but it wasn't to be. Taylor Williams had a great game in the middle of midfield zipping the ball round for fun. An Leighton mills has had an excellent week. It was a great game to watch our boys against a strong side and we can take many positives from this evening and we wish future elevens PSA the very best for the rest of the season
