History

The Connah's Quay Town side is one of a long and successful history. The heart of the side has been together since under 8's playing in the Clwyd Junior League as Connah's Quay Nomads.

The side have always been successful on the pitch and through out mini football won a number of Summer tournaments over the years.

The side continued through the older and competitve years in the Clwyd Junior League set up. The side won the Clwyd Junior League at under 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 level. As well as this they won the Clwyd Junior League Cup at under 13, 14, 15 and 17.

The sides biggest achievement in the Clwyd Junior League set up was in the under 17 age group when they went unbeaten and won the under 17 league as well as the North Wales under 19's trophy with all players being just 16 and 17, against a full under 19's Rhyl side in the final.

The team also had success abroad when the side played in Holland at under 11's and 15's age group. At the 15's level the side won back to back international tournments both bein in Amsterdam. The side only conceded one goal over the tour and won all games in both the group and final stages.

After leaving the Clwyd Junior leagues the side spent a year in the Welsh Premier Under 21's league. Even with all players being just 17 and 18 the side finished runners up beating opposition such as Newown, Porthmadog and The New Saints.

The team stayed together and staying with Nomads joined the Clwyd League senior ranks as Connah's Quay Nomads Reserves. In the first season the side went on to win the Clwyd League Division 2 title. Following on from the previous years success the side went on to win the Clwyd League Division 1 title only losing the one game.

With the same side and backroom staff as the previous years, the side broke away from Connah's Quay Nomads to form a seperate club Connah's Quay Town Football Club.

Last season as Connah's Quay Town football club the side finished as runners up in the Clwyd Premier League and earned promotion to the Welsh Alliance Division 2. This was the side's third successive promotion through the tiers in Welsh football.

After winning promotion the club finds itself playing its first season in the Welsh Alliance and is looking forward to the next level in the teams history.

All in all the side has been together for just over 14 years through all the ranks of Clwyd Junior and senior league ranks.
