The Community
We are very proud of our work within the community of Derwentside, promoting and providing coaching of rugby to children of all ages.
We partially fund a Community Rugby Coach - Laura Coleman to develop rugby at all levels. Most of her time is spent in local schools helping teachers to deliver rugby during lessons as well as helping to run after school clubs. She is responsible for organising the schools competition structure for the area where she works very closely with Consett RFC to deliver. She also helps out with coaching at the rugby club, delivering sessions with different age groups and running specific skills sessions for example front row workshops.
