Once again a close game against our visitors from Horden.
The side from Horden dominated the early exchanges with there big pack and built up a 12 point advantage.
Consett eventually realised the way to play this game was as wide and free flowing as possible to tire the oppersition,this started to work when Consett got on the score sheet with a well worked back play try unconverted.
Horden really stuggerling now Consett stared to dominate some possesion and again from some good work in the backs and a clver kick ahead Consett got on level terms with a converted try.
With only minutes to go in the half Consett again crossed the line for a 19-12 half time lead.
In the second half Hored had not come to make the numbers up and levelled the scores at 19-19 with another powerful forwards drive, they then took the lead agin as Consett tried to play there type of game.
The score 26-19 Consett tried to get the ball as wide as possible but good defence stopped them until another good run resulted in an unconverted try.
With time running out and all to play for both sides where pushing for the victory when the ball was taken up field by the Horden forward then out to the back for a score in the corner giving the visitors a 31-24 lead, Consett required a comverted try to level the scores but could only manage an unconverted try to lose out by 2 points in a very entertaining game.
