New Year, New Team?
After a disappointing run in to the end of the calendar year, Consett RFC will be looking to start 2017 with a bang. New Head coach Andy Howells takes the reigns for the fist time in a difficult away trip to Stockton. Consett narrowly edged their home fixture against the Teesiders 19-15 back in September, but with Stockton posting some excellent results on the lead up to Christmas, Consett must be firing on all cylinders if they want to get the win.
Chris Urwin returns from his 1st XV hiatus at second row to add some 'bulk' to the pack. Meanwhile in the backs, Tom Johnson returns from his ankle injury at scrum half, Sam Gordon will don the 15 Jersey and we welcome South African James Wheeler, who partners Haydn Petch in the centres.
Consett have all the tools available to grab a much needed win but must pull it together on the day. Can they do it? Let's find out on Saturday afternoon.
