WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT Another Pre Season nearly over and with massive changes in the Consett back room and playing squad we are little over a week away from our ninth season and our second in the top flight of The Russell Foster Premier League.

The Consett AFC side are currently Runners up in the top division and are looking good for the new season ahead, it was always going to be a struggle to re group and grab THE BULLS by the horns so to say, but when The gaffa and his assistant and head coach stepped down the gaffa continued the building work in the back ground to keep Consett's Premier junior football team playing the wonderful game.

The upheaval in the team would disrupt the strongest of professional teams let alone a junior side but the togetherness of the lads that were left and although he had stepped down the ex gaffa was working hard to get a new boss in place.

The first deal was done the new boss was to be revealed. Dale Stones was to take over the reigns he had played for the juniors himself and was a player on the fringes of Consetts first team it was a very positive appointment and this is a challenge he was certainly up for, however with lots of things to iron out and plenty of hurdles still to overcome there was a lots of work to do before THE BULLS were anywhere near back to full strength.

Team meetings and lots of emotions, it was time for a fresh look lets re group enjoy our football. If its time for players to move on shake hands and go our separate ways no hard feelings and good luck.

It was a tough month but with adverts and requests for players to join there was a break through and with the friendly games starting THE BULLS were looking like they had never changed style or any disruption was certainly a thing of the past.

New players but not just new players these players bring a quality and a unique style of skill and passion and with three new additions signed and another close to completion THE BULLS are probably looking stronger than they ever have before, quality to represent the team that are already in place without being disrespectful to any of the past players THE BULLS are certainly looking good. With one more pre season game to go THE BULLS have a really hard start to the new season and also a County Cup game against a team a year older, but we know THE BULLS will be up for any game they play.

We need now to get behind the lads and whether this season is a transitional one we know the main thing is we still have Consett AFC BULLS playing football and that itself is an achievement.

When the new season get underway I hope to have a monthly review like this, Manager/Player interviews, and updates on everything THE BULLS.
