PRE SEASON UPDATE FROM THE GAFFA

Well out of all the years of involvment this pre season has been the busiest of them all.

After finshing the seaon as league winners and two times semi finalists it was always going to be the case having dug the foundations in the early years, last season seen the concrete installed and now the brick colour has been picked and the blocks ready to cement together, this in terms of the personell we have for the new eleven a side season.

We have seen players leave and this is never a good thing but in there eyes moving to get regular football is the reason and they leave with our blessing and I hope that they find the amount of football they are looking for.

The players coming in has been well publicised Cook, Clementson, Pyle and the resigning of the other squad members make this team a real force, when you pick the starting eleven you then look at the quality that is on the bench and you have to rub your eyes as there is no week links the full squad has something to offer and after long conversations with the coaching team it was decided that unless there is someone with the rite attitude and the rite level of desire and comittment and a high level of footballing quality that is going to have a positive effect on the squad we are building this is the team that is going to take us into season 2015/16.

We are confidant that with more of the same guidance and the same attitude to learn and develop in return this next season can be equally if not more of a success than last time around, we have a team to be jelous of and the support this team has makes other just gasp at what has been achieved in such a small amount of time.

We have started pre season with the Ferryhill Tournement and the things that were learnt from this were invaluable just how hard a step it is to make from 9 v 9 football to 11 v 11 football, the lads however conducted themselves well and following a session in the board room at Consett with the marker pens and paper the following discussions went on to prove just what a mature and honest bunch of lads we have in THE BULL ARMY.

We followed this by entertaining Consett Nitros having played them pre season last year we managed to arrange another game and the game was all about THE BULLS and the way that they set themselves out even though the game was a 3 v 3 draw it took The Nitros until six seconds remaining to manage to scramble a draw and the old kitchen sink was thrown at THE BULLS.

THE BULLS were a problem for the two year older opponents and could of had the game out of site by half time but this is what pre season is all about and we play another consett side next week against the one year older Eagles THE BULLS having players missing for this game but again it is about adjusting to the new systems of play and getting ready for the all important start of season kick off.

Hetton Lyons from our old division visit the following week and again a test awaits, but with the teams being the same age etc it should be more of a estimate as to where we are in the early stage of pre seaon and to round of this little spell of games we head back to Ferryhill for a round robin tournement having impressed there again, the organisors have asked us to return with THE BULLS and set about making our name even better.

BULL BULL BULL A BULL ARMY.
