Welcome to Conwy Borough Juniors
Bob ran a number of teams over the years at Under 9,11,12,14 & 16 level which produced players such as Mickey Thomas(Wrexham, Manchester United, Stoke City & Wales) & Eddie Niedzwiecki(Wrexham, Chelsea & Wales)
Bob ran the club virtually single handly until the mid 1990' and managed his last championship winning team in the 1992/93 season of the Colwyn & Aberconwy Under 12 section.
Following Bob' poor health in the 90's the club was looked after by Steve Braithwaite who had joined the from Conwy Devils.
Borough enjoyed a sucsessful period in the late 90's & early noughties, in the 1997/98 season Steve Braithwaite' Under 15's finished league runners up and he also produced a good Under 9's team which was to be the last team Bob was to be involved in.
In 2000 a Girls section was developed and was to produce more sucssess than could have been imagined following a stint in the boys league they went on to finish runners up in the NWCFA Mini Tournament, Winners & Runners up in the Bangor City Ladies Tournament which the final was decided on penalties, runners up in a mixed tournament held by Llanrwst United and runners up in the FAW mini festival, however there biggest achievement came as they took part in the Glan Conwy Tournament in July 2000 competing in an all boys enviroment and coming out winners beating Penrhyn Bay on penalties.
In June 2001 they took part in the FAW national festival only losing out to Cardiff 3-2, and later that summer went on to beat Liverpool FC 4-0.
The squad produced three Welsh trialist and several members of the North Wales Centre of Excellence & Conwy County Squad, which included Aimee Todd who went on to play for Manchester United & Liverpool.
In the 2001/02 season the Under 12 boys finished league runners up and went one better the following year winning the Colwyn & Aberconwy league title, this was a team which included Bob' grandson Callum.
The Under 15' squad of 2004/05 recorded a fantastic honour for the club as they won the North Wales FA Challenge Cup.
In April of last year Bob Lloyd MBE sadly passed away, he had become president of the club following his days of managing teams and was also registration secretary to the mini football section of the Colwyn & Aberconwy junior league; who named their annual mini football tournament after him for his service to junior football.
Conwy Borough Juniors are now run by Steve Braithwaite who has now been with the club for 16 years.
In the summer of 2011 Conwy Borough JFC became the junior section to Conwy United FC.
The club currently has Under 8,9,10,11 & 16 squads and look to add to this in the 2012/13 season.
