The home side took the lead just a few minutes before the end of the first half through an Alex Jones strike after an opening exchange where both sides squandered chances.

Conwy stepped up the pace at the start of the second half and the deserved equaliser came on 85 minutes through Ben Holmes, who was one of several impressive performers for the Tangerines on the night. The left back's driving run took him past several players before unleashing a shot from just outside the box which squeezed inside the post to beat Prestatyn stopper Mike Jones to spark rapturous celebrations from the visitors.

Both sides had chances to win the game in the final few minutes bar some excellent defending at both ends of the pitch.

The Tangerines are on the road again with a trip to face Buckley Town on Saturday (KO 2pm) and will be looking to build on tonight's positive performance.
