Former top scorer Lloyd Ellams has returned to Conwy Borough.

The forward was previously at the club during the 2012/13 season when he ended the season as top scorer. His last appearance was in the League Cup final success against Caersws at The Rock.

Ellams came through the youth ranks at Chester City before making his Football League debut after a loan spell with Droylsden. He scored what proved to be Chester's last goal in the Football League, signing for Northern Premier League side Marine and then joining his previous manager Jim Harvey at Stalybridge Celtic for the following season. Ellams then joined Conwy Borough in the Huws Gray Alliance before moving to Vauxhall Motors in July 2013 and signing for Rhyl a year later but left in September 2014.

“I am made up to be back at Conwy, it's a great club and there's some great people at the club. I am really looking forward to working with Mossy and Aden.

"After a difficult start to the season personally, I just want to get playing again. With the recent signings the club has made, we are all hoping to turn our season around which I know we can do with the quality we have. I can't wait to get going."

Conwy Borough manager Darren Moss is delighted to get the talented players signature: "Lloyd is no stranger to Conwy and was a class act when he was here. He is a player I have known and liked for some time and will bring real quality and goals to our team.”

"His enthusiasm and drive for football is second to none and I know he can't wait to get going with us.”

Moss is also set to be boosted by the return of midfielders Steve Cunningham and Barry Hogan in the next few weeks as his side look to climb the league table and progress the Welsh Cup.

"It's the last of our big signings and I am hoping we can really kick on now as its a busy few weeks. We have a target as to where we want to be by Christmas and that starts sat with a real tough away game at Rhayader on Saturday.”
