Conwy Borough manager Darren Moss has secured the signing of 19 year-old former Blackburn Rovers trainee, Danny Laverty.

Laverty, who spent seven years at Ewood Park, having joined Rovers as an eleven-year-old, had spent last season at Rhyl where he made a handful of appearances in the Welsh Premier League.

He will be no stranger to Conwy Borough fans as he scored twice against the Tangerines for Rhyl in pre-season at Y Morfa in 2013, winning rave reviews from fans and forcing Rhyl manager Greg Strong to act quickly to secure the services of the diminutive winger.

Moss was delighted to bag the signature of the exciting youngster:

“Danny is a player we have kept an eye on for some time. He has been training with clubs from a higher level during summer so it's great to finally put pen to paper. Danny is young, hungry and wants success. He is a player that will excite people with the way he takes players on, he's quick and can play either wing or in behind striker."

“He will fit in great with the way we play and we are looking forward to working with him as he is still young and willing to learn more.”

With no International Clearance required, Laverty is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturdays home game at Y Morfa vs Penycae (KO 2.30pm) as the Tangerines look to secure a fourth win on the bounce.
