MUSSELMEN WIN AT LLANDUDNO IN NWCFA CUP image

A late winner from Paul Cassidy secured Conwy United's passage into the next round of the NWCFA Challenge Cup with a thrilling 4-3 win at Maesdu Park.

Conwy United went 1-0 down early on but took a 3-1 lead into half-time through a close range effort from Chris Quinn and excellent finishes from John Owen and Leigh Craven. However, the lead was squandered as the Musselmen were a little casual at times in the second half and allowed Llandudno back into the game as they pulled back two goals to make it 3-3 with five minutes left.

However, Conwy were always a threat and it was close range finish from substitute Paul Cassidy on the rebound following a good save from the keeper that ensured that Conwy go through to the next round of the cup where they will face Llanrwst United away.

Conwy United return to league action this Friday as they travel to top of the table Connahs Quay (ko 7.30pm).
