Aden Shannon has confirmed the signing of promising former TNS defender Luke Douglas along with a number of key members of last seasons squad.

Douglas, who was on-loan at Y Morfa last season and impressed with a string of fine performances, turned down a number of offers from Welsh Premier clubs to sign for the Tangerines. The 19 year old won the clubs Young Player of the Year award and can play anywhere across the back-line.

Shannon said: “I am delighted that we have agreed terms with Luke Douglas. He was was outstanding for us on-loan last season and was keen to come back to the club."

Shannon also reports a number of last seasons squad have committed to return to Y Morfa with Louie Mackin, Players and Supporters Player of the Year, Andrew Brown, Jack Rowland, Chris Rowntree, Teddy Whelan, Phil Clarke, Jack Graham, Leigh Craven, Steve Cunningham, Jack Pickering, Lee McElmeel along with Chris Li and promising youngsters Christian Wright and Jack Roberts. However, striker Aaron Rey couldn’t agree terms and is unlikely to return.

"I am delighted with the players who have agreed to return to the club.” said Shannon. "Chris Li, I believe, is the best centre midfielder in the league and Jack Roberts is one of the best local talents about, he has got a great future in the game.”

"I am also looking to bring in some more young talent and some exciting new signings hopefully this week.”

The clubs pre season friendly schedule is almost complete and will be announced shortly.
