Second half goals from Leigh Craven and Pete Jones sealed a 3-1 friendly win against Llandudno Junction at Y Morfa on Saturday.

The Tangerines recovered from a lethargic first half display to eventually overcome a determined Junction side. The visitors took a deserved first half lead through former Tangerine Ricky Jones who struck it home well as the Tangerines defence failed to clear their lines. Aaron Rey then failed to convert a dubious penalty award before equalising to make it 1-1 just before half time as he lifted the ball over the keeper to head home.

The second half brought about a much improved display from Conwy Borough with the introduction of substitutes Pete Jones, Andreas Alverado and Jamil Adam in particular making an impact. The Tangerines took the lead through a Leigh Craven free-kick which found its way through to the corner of the net before Alverado hit the post after a well worked move. The third goal came from a quick breakaway down the left side as substitute left back Ste Cain whipped in the perfect ball to meet striker Pete Jones run to finish from close range.

"The first half performance was just not good enough and after a good midweek performance against Wrexham I was very disappointed." said Conwy Borough manager Aden Shannon.

"But I also have to give credit to a Junction side who came to frustrate us and worked well for each other. They wanted it more than us which I wasn't happy about, but again credit to my lads who responded well after half time and in fairness, we ran out comfortable winners in the end."

Next up for the Tangerines on Saturday 1st August is a first every visit by North West Counties side, 1874 Northwich FC (KO 2.30pm).
