After a four year process, and a cost of over £150,000, the new facility at Y Morfa Stadium was completed in time for the new season, with Chris Coleman officially opening the new venue on Thursday, 20th November 2014.

The project was funded by the Cyfenter fund, WCVA, Conwy Borough County Council, Cartrefi Conwy and Conwy Town Council.

Coleman praised the club: “The facilities here are fantastic and it is testament to the hard work a lot of people have put in to make this happen."

“It is clear that something special is happening here, and although results have not been great on the pitch, they have a bright new manager in Aden (Shannon), and I am confident after speaking to him tonight that he will take the club forward to get where they want to be.”

After presenting the clubs academy players with trophies following an under 10 academy match prior to the opening, Coleman then presented new academy shirts to the new sponsors who then presented the shirt to a player from each age group. Team sponsors included the Castle Hotel, G Puchase Contruction and Hickorys Smokehouse. The Wales manager then took part in a question and answer session with the audience which he answered honestly and in good humour.
