Beginnings
The Coventry Works and Sports Association Netball League was first formed in 1946 after the war, and its aim was to promote a wider interest in netball amongst the workers of Coventry. Copsewood Netball Club (formerly known as Marconi, G.P.T and G.E.C.) have the unique achievement of playing in the league since its existence. As G.E.C. in those early days of the 1940's they battled for the league championship with their arch rivals Courtaulds "A".
