Sports Personality of the Year snub.
Shock and outrage at short list snub.
It has been all over the sports sections of the press but there was a sense of shock that NO Corby Hockey player was even nominated for the coveted BBC Award. Previous winner AP McCoy commented "it was no surprise there were no fillies on the list but to have no Corby Hockey players appears to be a major oversight". Host Gary Lineker said that "yet again no Corby Hockey player. This continual snub smacks of a BBC cover up. I suspect the programmes producers are worried that once it goes to a public vote the whole show could be a Corby Hockey fest". A Corby Hockey spokesman said that again he was disappointed with our national broadcaster but that rumours abound on internet chat rooms that Brownie could get disabled performer of the year for his one legged running in circles.
