OK, they are bottom for a couple of reasons. Two players suspended, one decent player moved to Barford Tigers. That leaves them a bit thin in the quality stakes. We took a bare eleven (again) and had the game been any more low key we could have got out the deckchairs and drank Pimms. End of term match barely sums this up. Aidan Elliott had a one on one half way through the first half. That sums up the first half action. After a half time debate Corby played well for five minutes at the start of the second half and forced five short corners at the home umpire's end and eventaully Mark Hawkins rifled the ball into the bottom corner. That was the cue for Corby to sit back, put their feet up and consider a job well done. Ramgarhia had other ideas and a forceful run past a virtually disabled Dan Phillips (we don't care Dan, you were there)led to a cross and tap in with eight minutes to go. We didn't really deserve to win so no complaints. Richard Lashbrooke took the man of the match honours with a 6/10 performance although by his own admission he was good. This is the Lash we need to see week in week out for the first team.
Final game of the season is a belter with Boots visiting fortress CBA not only realistically needing to win but also requiring results to go in their favour and bang in goals in the process. Corby's form at home is pretty good and the spy from Boots obviously worked his magic with his notes about Loughborough Town as Town wacked them 7-1 we can be confident.
Top games this week with possibly only one going up due to National League relegation stuff:-
Corby v Boots
Loughborough Town v Nottingham
Loughborough Sharks v Notts Uni
