Corby 2nd XI secured a well deserved victory at Derby Asterdale with a 2.1 win. Corby dominated throughout and took the lead midway through the first half. After a couple of good saves from the Asterdale keeper, 15 year old Aidan Elliott scored from a narrow angle. Asterdale equalised after 5 minutes when the usually reliable Dave Cherry failed to clear his lines and presented the Asterdale centre forward with an unmissable opportunity. Corby responded well and 16 year old Ross Mulligan fired Corby back into the lead with an unstoppable reverse stick shot. Corby dominated the game throughout with tireless work from Simon Evans and Richard Lashbrooke creating numerous chances for Elliott, Simon Davey and Owen Dunn, which were not taken. Overall, an excellent performance and confidence is high as Corby entertain Loughborough Sharks this week.
