Team work delivered the win.
Corby traveled to Warwick for what they new would be a challenging match. The game was being played at a very good pace with Corby holding fast at the back Berkswell put the pressure onto Corby from the off,but Corby responded well at the back & with the the midfielders Richard Lashbrooke,Adam Duell, Josh Batemen doing some great work. Berkswell moved the ball around trying to locate Corby's weak spot but not locating one until 15 minutes into the game when they won a short corner from which the Corby Keeper saved but was unable to save the rebound picked up by the Berkswell striker. Corby Responded after this with Striker Simon Davey slotting in the equalizer Berkswell were very luck when Corby struck the ball into the Berkswell goal which hit the Berkswell defender & should have had a penalty flick but the umpire failed to give this. Corby Defense done some fantastic work at the back with Scott Mulligan,James Jenkins,Nick Cusk & John Alllen holding fast & this was clearly troubling Berkswell. Some great Aerials being put up from Skipper Scott Mulligan at the back which Berkswell were struggling with & Simon Davey releasing Aiden Elliott & Striker Owen Dunn on several occasions. Owen Dunn had a number of chances & was really unlucky when he done a fantastic chip on the Berkswell Keeper and was just about across the line when Berkswell defender caught the ball with his stick depriving Owen Dunn of his goal.Berkswell were not taking all the pressure lightly they were putting Corby under threat which Man of the match Corby Keeper Aaron Cherry done some fantastic saves keeping Corby in the running. 15 Minutes from the end of the game Owen Dunn again struck on the berkswell goal only to be saved by the keeper but Josh Batemen very quick to respond picked up the ball & with a sweet chip on the Berkswell keeper taking Corby into the lead. Corby Ran down the clock & locked down at the back making it very difficult for Berkswell to break through. Corby Ran down the clock to hold a well deserved win.
